Additional Information

Description

Solvent-based, non-aromatic coating compound based on synthetic resins with outstanding covering power. Special features of the material are that it is quick drying and can be painted over. After it is completely dry, the coating is resistant to abrasion, protects against corrosion and has very good stone-impact protection properties and good anti-drumming properties. The dried film adheres well to unpainted and painted sheet steel as well as plastics which have been coated with primer or filler. Can be painted over using commercially available paint systems and is easy to grind after drying.

Application

Clean the surfaces to be treated thoroughly in advance and remove rust. The surfaces must be dry and free of wax, dirt and grease and largely free of dust.

Shake well before use! The adhesion is improved if the surface to be treated is roughened first. Can be applied using the UBS Spray Gun (part no. 6219) or the Compressed Air Can Gun (part no. 6220) with an operating pressure of 2 – 4 bar depending on the spray pattern desired.

Do not leave containers open as a skin will form on the surface of the material.

LIQUI MOLY recommendation:

LIQUI MOLY recommends applying thin coats. Depending on the desired layer thickness, intermediate drying should be carried out after each layer.

If Stoneguard is subsequently painted over, the coating will become increasingly hard. This means that the surface treated should be treated with adhesive primer for plastic in the same way as for plastics.

Contains solvents which etch substrates such as zinc spray or zinc-rich paint. For this reason, substrates should be pretreated with a suitable primer before applying Stoneguard.
